The Way to Replace Gas According to a Poulan Chain Saw
The gas supply hoses Poulan chain saws carry fuel from the gas tank into carburetor and the purge . The carburetor is primed by the bulb that is purge by injecting gas into the carburetor, for starting. The return gas hose returns the purge fuel to the gas tank. These flexible gas hoses harden and become brittle to oil fuel and engine heat, and should be substituted to prevent fuel spillage or flash flame.
Drain the gas tank. Pull the carburetor gas supply hose and filter . Pull on the fuel filter home nipple from the carburetor gas supply hose finish.
Unscrew the retaining screws and remove the engine cylinder.
Unscrew the retaining screws and lift the starter home from the engine on the left side of the chain saw from the operator’s place.
Lift the air filter out of the air filter home, located beneath the starter home. Eliminate using a socket wrench. Unscrew the two outer holding screws, and remove the air filter home from the very best chainsaw engine and carburetor.
Unscrew the purge bulb retaining screws. Yank on the purge bulb out from the chassis.
Eliminate the massive fuel return hose from the bottom purge bulb home nipple. Yank on on the purge bulb return fuel hose from the fuel return hose inlet on the top, right side of the gas tank. Unclip the return fuel hose from the carburetor adapter plate gas hose clip. Pull on the return gas hose below the carburetor and free from the engine .
Yank on on the bulb gas supply hose that is purge out of the gas inlet fitting that is carburetor lower.
Pull the right side of the carburetor onto AV models, and the carburetor gas supply hose out of the carburetor gas supply fitting, located on the top , left side of the carburetor onto chain saw models. Unclip the gas supply hose. Pull on the supply hose from the fitting on the top side of the gas tank.
Push the new carburetor gas supply hose to the hose inlet on the gas tank top side. Pull the hose up from inside the gas tank, then using needle-nosed pliers to grasp the hose. Push the gas filter casing push on the gas filter housing to the gas tank, and nipple end to the gas supply hose.
Route the new carburetor gas supply hose below the carburetor and feed it into the gas inlet fitting onto the top of the carburetor. Clip on the hose.
Push the new bulb return fuel hose that is purge into the return hose inlet on the top, right side of the gas tank. Push the hose below the carburetor and clip it. Push the hose finish onto the massive nipple on the bulb casing that is purge.
Push the new bulb gas supply hose onto the fitting on the left side of the carburetor. Push the hose finish onto the nipple on the bulb casing that is purge. Push the purge bulb casing into the chain saw chassis; tighten the screw with a screwdriver.
Assemble the chain saw air cover, air filter housing and home in reverse order of disassembly. Fill the gas tank. Start and stop the chain saw several times to check for proper gas hose operation.
